Martin (Marty) T. Mitchell, CRCM, a Managing Director with FORVIS, is the past Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Online Lending Policy Institute (OLPI), now the American FinTech Council.
After retiring from a successful career as a US Army officer, he served and received his commission as a federal compliance examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). As an examiner, Marty was responsible for determining financial institution compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, as well as conducting Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and fair lending examinations for large and small banks. He also served on a special project at the FDIC’s Washington D.C. Headquarters.
Marty has 25 years of experience in the consumer compliance field and has held the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager designation for 22 years. In addition to his nearly 18 combined years with the firm, Marty was also with Capital One’s Corporate Compliance. There, he led the design and implementation of their corporate level mortgage compliance program through a period of business closures, multiple acquisitions, and intense regulatory scrutiny.
Marty frequently speaks on a wide range of regulatory topics at seminars as well as at various conferences and forums.
